Bright Light on Russian CELTA Graduate

GV Vancouver

GV Vancouver is proud to celebrate the accomplishment of Anastasia Zaika!

Anastasia was the top student in Vancouver’s Cambridge CELTA teacher training program in June, achieving a score reached only by 25% of candidates who take the rigorous and intensive course offered by Cambridge centres all over the world.  “It is definitely an accomplishment”, purports Brad Bentz, the CELTA Coordinator at GV Vancouver, and he recommends that Anastasia be hired on as a GV teacher.

That may very well happen someday!  Anastasia is in the process of gaining permanent residency to be with her Canadian husband whom she met in Russia during the Sochi Olympic Games.  Having a university degree in Linguistics, Anastasia has worked as a translator and teacher in Russia, and has already spent much time in Canada, including GV Calgary furthering her studies and proficiency in English.

When asked what she misses and loves about Russia, Anastasia says that she misses the nature, family, and spending time around a camp fire with friends and guitar. And in Canada she says she loves the friendly people, the nature, and the spectacular views wherever she goes!
